Silverstone Barz: The Making of 'Double S'

"'There are artists in the game that drop bars, and on the other hand, there are artists that drop punchlines. But guess what, its not a coincidence that Kenya's very own Silverstone Barz is highly considered the 'Punchline Queen' when it comes to Hip Hop FemCees.

Born and raised in Nakuru County, she clearly represents that massive talent that Kenya has to offer and you don't gotta be bred in the capital to make a name for yourself.

Before becoming Kenya's rap protege, she had released a couple of projects on her own, under the stewardship of her producer 'Gstr the Producer'. He seemed to mastered her sound, and went on to work together on 'In this Beats' & the follow up 'In This Beats 2' mixtapes. followed by 'The Menace' EP

Double S released her own freestyle to Young MA top charting single 'BIG' together with a video to top it off. She clearly wasn't here to play. Directed by Ivan Odie of Callivan Creatives the video went viral and she was on everyone's lips as the newest artist to watch.

She then went on to drop the visuals of 'Get A Life' about a month later, and fans were loving the consistency. In the same month she got to be featured in record label Blu Ink's 'Khali Kartel 3' that featured The O.G himself Khaligraph Jones, Bey T, Rekless of Ethic Entertainment, Breeder LW and one of KE's Hip Hop Legend Chiwawa.

The beat was produced by Kenya's biggest producer Motif and the visuals directed by Mike Lolly P. The video has garnered more than 2.4 million views since it dropped 10 months ago.

The gods were definitely in her favor and barely a month later, she was again featured on the Sequel of 'Ol Gang' on a track called 'Round 3' which was an all Fem Cee lineup. The song also featured Dyana Cods, Frida Amani, She Flo, Tilly and Kaka Empire's very own King Kaka.

With such a successful year, Silverstone Barz doing what she does best, released another mixtape 'Queen Pin' and unbelievably out of an 11 track project, she only features three artists ie Jovie Jov, on 'Mexico', Dez on 'Pull Up' and one half of TnT, Timmy Blanco in the jam 'G.O.A.T'

Indutry's naysayers thinking she'd bow out, she went on to drop two more freestyle's. First one was on Buju Banton's single 'Trust' followed by another one on Khaligraph Jones' banger 'Yes Bana'

She recently released a new track together with the visuals titled 'Jar Weed'

Silverstone Barz has performed one track on LWKY titled 'Watch Yo Mouth'
