If there's something that LWKY is about, is interacting, networking and featuring with individuals that are not only pace makers in the showbiz industry but also trend setters.
And no other person features this description like the Shrap OG Himself 'Jovie Jovv'. To be honest, in our opinion, he's the Captain of the Cool Kids. Together with AD Family honchos Boutross, Dope-I-Mean, Kay Green and their manager Musau,
They started the movement SHRAP. Standard Digital Entertainment describes Shrap as 'A Youth-driven type of genre that is more than just music. It’s a culture filled with fashion, flamboyance, bravado, nonchalance and backed by a sound that is sinister, cold-blooded, blunt and hard-hitting.
Jovie began his career in around 2014/2015, deciding to drop out of university to follow his passion in music. 5 years down the line, he has lived up to his dream, making a name for himself in an industry that was overlooked especially with major media outlets like radio and TV only giving Naija & Bongo Music airplay.
Since 2017, Jovie has released 2 mix-tapes, Growth and Jugging in Nairobi. He also collaborated with AD Family on the EP Turn A Hobby To A Job which comprised of 5 tracks.
In 2018, Jovie was featured in a collaboration cipher powered by Blu Ink Corp and AD Family dubbed Shrap Gang Mafia 'Khali Kartel 2.1 'that featured Breeder LW, Barak Jacuzzi and the AD Family Gang.
Jovie has also done a couple of tracks with Hiphop group TNT comprising of Timmy Blanco & Twenny Eights. Some of the tracks include Form, Gawa, Lifestyle, We Cannot Vibe etc
He's also collaborated with fast rising song bird and rapper Bey T on the song Pop, Baraka on the track Lockdown, DJ Slim B on the jam Makali, Monski on the banger Out Here. And finally he's biggest international collaboration has been with Singer & Rapper Sho Madjozi on the hit song Juiceman Remix.
He is also about to drop his album Shrap OG- Don Wa Ma Don that has collaborations with artists such as Silverstone Barz.
Jovie Jov has performed one track on LWKY titled 'Piga Luku'
